Hello,
I recently added a 396 to my collection and am able to expand my monitoring footprint a but further north from my Wilmington DE location.

I have programmed all Burlco sites into my 396 (An can rx most of them at night) but currently have 200 TG's per system (All programmed identical) which is slowing down the system scan time. My question for you is one of how often do you hear PD tg's active on a site outside of their local or adjacent radio zones?

I would expect that if you programmed the same TG's for the home system and adjacent counties you would get most comms. Why would a South region TG travel to the North Central region? (99% of the time anyway)

Just trying to thin out the TG's where I can.

Thanks for any info.

Dave (I should have bought a 996!)

Dave,

It's quite normal to hear TGID's from zones that immediatly border the one you are actually monitoring at the time (i.e. - if you are listenig to north, you'll hear northwest, north central, & northeast).

Trying to program all that, you quickly over-run the 200-max-per-system limit.:(

I resigned myself to just having the countywide TGID's and the ones listed for that zone only...
