Hello all,
A few questions about Rocky Ridge & Cahaba Valley Fire for those in the know.
Rocky Ridge:
Are they a Jefferson County fire district only working unincorporated areas right there in southern Jefferson / northern Shelby counties?
Who funds them? How is the station staffed?
Is Rocky Ridge fire is dispatched soley through city of Hoover Fire?
If Hoover is the only agency that dispatches them, does the City of Hoover make the sole decisions on what calls they make runs on? Do they make runs in the city of Hoover proper or the city of Vestavia proper? What about city of Birmingham's Hwy 280/459 scattered region?
What is their general run territory?
Cahaba Valley:
Do they dispatch from their own facility? If so, how is this a benefit from partnering with Shelby 911 for fire/medical response?
The only time I really hear of them is when Birmingham FD is requesting mutual aid response or vice versa. I have also heard them recently on Birmingham Fire's dispatch channel responding to incidents when mutual aid requests have initiated.
Anyway, thanks for any and all insight!
