Hello west coast ,
I escaped from there a few years ago, however I have a family member that lives down near fresno I was just wondering if there are any p25 systems comming on line soon in the central valley or bay area (other than what is posted)

He needs some help programing and Im setting up his 396xt here in colorado I just want to make sure I got everything right before I ship the radio.
Thanks

Jeff,
Just noticed your post. As of now there are not any P25 frequencies in Fresno County. In Madera County Mardera Police are P25

I did manabe to catch some occasional data transmissions on a rail frequency. I am guessing that I might have been listening to was either BNSF or WP if not Fresno SO (who has been allocated a railroad frequency or two is testing out some P25 equipment. But this was heard on a 396 which does VERY well decoding P25 (2 local ham repeaters).

Going further up north I understand San Joaquin County law enforcement agencies are switching.

Latest update is that CHP has started rolling out a 700 P25 HT in the Sacramento Area.

I am seeing a lot of changes happening over the past several week and addition of new systems and turning on of system upgrades.

It is coming out, agencies just have to be able to see the justifiable, added expense in these lean times.
