On Tuesday at 1530 hrs, the storm started to hit Calvert County and it did a good job in Huntingtown. 10 minutes later, a box was dispatched for a working barn fire struck by lightning on Hollands Cliff Road. Engine 51 and Tanker 5 responded leaving several crews back. As units were operating on the working barn fire, Calvert advised command (Chief Montgomery) a second box was being put out on Lower Malboro Road for a second barn fire that was struck by lightning. Engine 52 and Chief 5B (Sealey) responded leaving a Squad and two Ambulance crews on the floor. Chief 5B arrived on the scene and confirmed another working barn fire a good ways off the road. Engine 12 and Engine 52 arrived simultaneously and Engine 12 laid a line with Engine 52 picking it up. Engine 51 cleared the first barn fire, and was requested to the second one to set up draft at the scene by command (Chief Sealey). Crews from Dunkirk operated on the scene until 1925 hrs and returned home to clean up some very dirty Apparatus.
