• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Can ARC15 read ARC996 files?

Today I bought a Uniden BCT15 and ARC15-Lite to program it. When I went to save a system in ARC15 I noticed it saved it as an ARC996 file. Hmmm.. interesting. I have ARC996PRO and a completely set up BCD996. So. . . . can I read my ARC996 system files into ARC15 and save myself a ton of work programming the new radio (essentially cloning the 996 into the 15)? All systems in question are analog.

The hangup might be that the BCT15 knows the "State" location of the system, whereas the BCD996 does not, so maybe that makes the ARC files different. I tried my idea, and the "State" comes up blank in ARC15. Not sure if everything else is ok.
