You can enter them in, but you won't hear any digital transmissions as the Pro 164 is analog only. You need either a Pro 106 or Pro 197.

you can put the freqs in but you will only hear noise. the pro 164 doesnt decode digital. what you need is a pro 106/197 or a uniden 996 or 396 to hear the transmissions. also before you go buying one of those make sure the freqs arent encrypted because if they are, you are not going to hear anything even with a digital scanner. good luck

i have a pro 164 can i enter digital frequencies and if i can how do i enter them into the scanner?

You can enter them in the same way you enter any other frequency. There is nothing different about the frequency itself. However, as already stated, your Pro-164 is an analog-only scanner. If you try to listen to a digital transmission on an analog scanner, you will only hear the 'carrier noise' (you will not hear any voice audio).

That being said, there are some areas where a frequency may be shared by both digital and analog users, so in that case you can enter the frequency with the corresponding analog PL tone so you hear only the analog transmissions using that PL tone without hearing the empty carrier noise from a digital transmission.
