I pose that question because on a t-band Motorola type II digital TRS in South Jersey there is currently a situation where lots of police depaartments have migrated to the TRS from their own conventional frequencies. Unfortunately what the county did was they kept sticking them on the same TGID so that there are like about 10 busy PDs on that TGID. My issue is I only want to listen to about 3 or 4 of them plus county dispatch. So the question is if I program the UIDs of the police units I dont want to hear and locked them out, but I did not program any of the UIDs of units I would care to hear as well as left the TGID unlocked would that work? I understand it would take up space on my radiobut I'm really trying to cut down on unneccessary traffic in this area, and even with 2 radios going its easy to miss stuff.

No you cannot program individual radio IDs and have them excluded from talkgroup chatter. What system and talkgroup ID are you talking about?

Thats a shame. Was worth a try though. And I am following Burlington County, NJ Motorola Type II Public safety system, in particular TGID 18704 or P-2A which has to be exact 5 of the busiest towns in the county which is on the delaware river next to Philadelphia.

I pretty sure I know what he wants - he's tired of hearing all the towns that use that talkgroup & just wants to hear the town that's most important to him...

Unfortunately there is not a solution for what he wants.
On a trunked system like he describes even the actual users
of the system have to put up with the other towns traffic on their
talkgroup. Not a feature in any radio on a Moto Trunked system like he descrbes to filter by RID/UID.
