"...request North Carolina to hold their traffic for juuuuuust a second, so I can hear 581 (THINK that was the unit number)"

That came from MO HP Willow Springs, I think, today. Guess skip was good for them too.

Poor coordination using the same PL tone. That is an easy problem to solve.

Yeah, really

Only a few states using lowband anymore, it would make sense for them to switch tones to none of them are using the same ones....

I heard that too. It also sounded like they said C & P key up to NC to hold traffic. Thanks for explaining what that was about. I 'get' the whole scenario, but can't yet get it out of my head. I checked my overlapping manually written notes again but I'm not sure of the freq or pl. It could be any of what I have in the below 2 lines:

>>42.06 with 192.8 pl...
>>42.1 with 203.5 or 186.2 pl or less likely 151.4 pl.

Here's what I did log correctly a few minutes before the 'NC traffic' transmission: 44.900 OKHP, 77.0 pl (mobile?) communicated with 44.700 with 77.0 pl (disp.?). I have 44.900 (I used CSQ) listed as MD SP statewide em ops and picked up 44.700 with 77.0 from one of the postings in this forum so that's how I could tell.

I haven't heard much skip since and nearly none the past few days. I've been comparing what I hear with the maps here: Tropospheric Ducting Forecast for VHF & UHF Radio & TV. I got the link from this forum. So far it matches up with what I hear.
