my cable i program my pro 96 with is not working with any software for the 106.com port is right can someone tell me what im doing wrong. The cable works great on the 96
If the cable that worked on the Pro96 is the grey cable with a 9-pin serial connector on one end it WON'T work with the Pro-106. Here is the cable page at Don Starr's site for information.

If the OP read the my link to Don's site (Here is the cable page at Don Starr's site for information.) I suspect he already knows about the "jumper". I'll post the actual information here if he still hasn't found it:roll:
"The RadioShack version (and possibly the GRE version) comes with an "adapter" - a stereo-to-mono adapter approximately 4 inches long. That adapter is not required for any GRE-made scanner, and it must not be used with the PSR-500 family scanners"
Additionall the Pro-106 WON'T allow the use of the jumper rather than find it not needed as your "you won't need it because the 106 doesn't require it." suggests.
