Can't record from BR330T

I'm wondering if there is some special setting or something to enable recording from my BR330T. I'm using the data cable, and have tried two software packages. The BuTel ARC330PRO and the freeware bctool. Both produce the audio files, but they are blank. Recording dead silence.
Everything else seems to be working well in remote control, so I'm thinking it's a setting that I've missed that enables this function.
Or maybe I have to set something special up on my computer to allow recording from the USB port rather than from the MIC input? I'm using XP.

Disregard. I must be WAY too tired. The audio does NOT go through the data cable, you have to connect the audio-out to the audio-in of the computer. Duh.
