Another season is about to end. :-( That Dave has no clue about working for others. I couldn't tolerate him.
Yeah, i think Dave gone after this season, even said that he misses his wife and wants to go back. He doesn't like to be baby sitted. Next episode he meets with the boss.

whats amazing to me is the fact that they take something so mundane...and turn it
into a weekly show and have people actually beleiving its one of the most dangerous jobs out there

I wish Hugh & Alex could go back to Alaska next season. I hope Maya stays.

After not checking his tiedowns on that one load last year (among other events), Hugh isn't welcome back on the Dalton. He and Rick tend to be rough with others' equipment. This year both virtually destroyed their trailers on that on that "trip from hell" this year. If Alex wanted to go back to the Dalton, I think he's welcome.

I would like to see IRT go back to Yellowknife, where Hugh & Alex had driven for many years (Alex lives there).

I would like to see Maya again to see how she develops her IRT career.

As for Dave, I'm not sure Carlile (the company AND other drivers) gave him a fair shake. He certainly did not do himself any favors by not keeping his temper in check while with Tony. From being ignored on the radio to being ignored on the lot to maintenance issues on the tractor, Dave has a right to not be happy. He should have taken the time to talk to Lane before things came to a head; I'm not sure things would have worked out any different though. Don't know how many chances he had to talk with Lisa. I was hoping those two would get to sit down for a chat. After Dave gave Lisa some advice/encouragement in India, it would have been cool to see Lisa be able to return the favor.

I saw a teaser last week that IRT Dangerous Roads will be in South America this year. (Peru maybe?) Saw Hugh in it. If Dave is there as well things will be interesting indeed. Two type A personalities hanging onto the same narrow mountain road? Whoa....

The assumtions of dave are correct. Those guys up there need to stick together. Not like you just hop off the rig on a county back road and go for a nice walk to the garage during sunset. Do that in minus 50 and they might as well make your body into a monument! Dave's just one of these guys that don't take not one's bs and seems to be a loner. Not good when you're working for a big co and on the safety enforced dalton. That's why the rules are in place and that's why carlisle gets the majority of the road. Probably working with dot on that. You may see Hugh and rick back on the dalton depending on how much $$$$$ history throws carlisle's way... That's the big thing $$$$$$. With gas up there at 5.00+ a gallon x 100ga tanks, they'll need the money. Milk is about 9.00ga.

Dave has 2 radios in his truck. I guess one is a cb and one is a vhf. Why doesn't carlisle invest in sat radios for the trucks so they can keep in costant comms with the drivers and the drivers can have pvt comms between each other. LIsa and Maya were talking about dave which might/should have been pvt. Maya has good petential and she will be back, so will lisa. See how they put Leigha on the show as well. Wanna get us 20-30ish single guys to tune in LOL. Guess Jack Jesse made enough $$$$ to stay off this year. I can understand that they are responsible for +1 or 2 and maybe don't want to take that risk.

I hated to see the season end again. Dave is something. He has such a fit with Alaska but does better on the summer roads. At least Lisa is letting her natural hair color come back. i didn't know Mai looked so good till she was in normal clothes tonight.

It is CARLILE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS, not carlisle. Secondly, CTS is the biggest Alaska transport company.

Yes they have cb and vhf radios, they don't need sat comms as everything you need to know, as a driver, will be passed by everyone up and down the Dalton, Parks, or Richardson Hwy. Unless you are a "dave", "porkchop", or an idiot.

Carlile Transportation Systems (MacDonald Brothers) is a great company to work for. I worked three years for them and only left because I got tired of the flippin snow... No, I was not from Alaska.

I wish Hugh & Alex would both go back to Carlile. Lisa tweeted the other day that she still works there. I hope she just wanted/needed a break from the show.

Hugh is a "rough" driver. I wouldn't let him anywhere near my equipment. He has no regard for trucks or trailers.

That being said, there is considerable animosity between US (Alaskan) and Canadian drivers.

Believe it or not, Carlile has been hauling freight up and down the Dalton, Parks, and Richardson for over twenty years. Just because you don't see it on TV does NOT mean nothing is moving. IRT acts like nothing moves until the "season". Well I am here to tell you, freight moved day in and day out, the beer, food, clothing, and never stopping. I worked six nights a week for three years plus...

Notice alex's radio last night? "LADD 1" On display.......sounded like a repeater on the off key....[/QUOTE

It was simplex, or "talk around" for you business band folks. Go back through the thread and pay particular attention to post # 12, #21, and finally #48 (mine). Canada is it's own country, and what they do with VHF radios is their business.

In BC, Alberta, Yukon and eslewhere in Canada LAD 1, AKA 154.100MHz is the Vhf equiviant of CB Ch19... Simplex only Mobile to Mobile. As well Hugh atleast and Rick(I think) are from Kelowna BC. For a whole list of the 'common trucker' frequecnies, look in the Alberta section under province wide trucking common. In BC, Yukon and Albetra they are a free for all, some are not even legal to use in Alberta but are anyways.
