Casing for 996XT (996P2/BCT15X) ... anyone have one?

Does anyone have the casing for a Uniden 996XT/996P2/BCT15X laying around?

I have contacted Uniden a number of times trying to purchase a replacement one for my 996XT, that was pulled out of my truck in July, and they simply do not sell them. They don't have a part number for them ... so now I have to resort to this. It was from being in a DIN sleeve to being on my desk, and I'd really like it in a proper casing on my desk rather than stripped down the way it is.

Does anyone have one they are not using? One sitting on their bench or in their parts closet? If so, are you willing to part with it?

Some guys asked back in 2014 and it was never answered. Maybe search ebay for those radios? Sometimes nonworking or for parts items show up at low prices.

I've been searching eBay, but I am not paying $100+ for a case. It is absurd that Uniden does not just sell the casing or have a part number for the casing.

go to your local sheet metal shop, they can make one for you, weather they will or not is a different story.
