Catawba County,NC System

Anybody around the Catawba County,Hickory NC area? I'm trying to setup my RTL-SDR dongle to monitor them and I can't get any traffic.
I also turned on a handheld scanner that I use to listen to them and no traffic either?
Did they change systems?

They use the NC VIPER system. I have a SDR on VIPER right now and a radio on the Catawba VIPER channels now

Which tower are you using? Baker Mtn,Riverbend Rd or Anderson Mtn? Im also using SDRTrunk.

I live in Iredell and use the Barium Springs site for the SDR, and whatever tower my radio goes to for the Catawba channels

The closest sites to me are the ones I listed above. I have tried all 3 sites using my Handheld scanner and PSRedit and I can't get anything on it either. I'm not sure whats going on.

Whats your antenna setup looking like? If I run a vertical antenna i don't pick up anything but if I take the little stubby stock sdr antenna horizontally it picks up just fine. Don't ask why cause idk

The Antenna is the same one I have been using for the last few years with no issues. Not sure why Catawba is giving me issues when it has been working fine. The other counties I have set up are OK.
