I spoke with a source at west cola PD and he says they are in the process of replacing their xts2500's with the apx 6000 and 6500. West cola is staying with Motorola. The only Pal800 users that use Kenwood are LMC Police/Security and soon to be Cayce PD. Their may be others but Im not aware of any others. 99% of the radios on Pal800 are Motorola. My source also states that WCPD has no planes to add encryption to thier dispatch talkgroup as they already have a few secure talkgroups to use. I have a few people who are stating that the remaining law agencies in the cola area will be encrypted in the next year or two. Those agencies being Columbia pd and the municipal pd's in lex co that use the 3 Muni law talkgroups.
