• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I'm Having trouble programming my EVX-S24 Radios with the CE157 software. When entering the frequencies for which are RX 464.35000 and TX 469.35000 that are two different frequencies, the radios will not transmit or receive. If the frequencies are the same they work. I have MOTO radios XPR 6550 and XPR 3500e that work fine. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong. I has to be something simple that I am missing. Anyone have a solution would greatly be appreciated.

Are they being used on a repeater? Or are they simplex? If they are simplex, your tx and rx frequencies should be the same. If it’s on a repeater, the tx is the input frequency for the repeater and the rx is the output frequency of the repeater. Are you sure you have the correct PL / DPL tones programmed?
One other thing. Are the XPR being used in digital mode or analog?

It is on repeater. and the radios use digital and analog zones. Don't see where in the program the PL/DPL tones are to add them. I use CPS for the other radios and I know where they go. This software is new to me.

Their is nothing there like that. I can find those settings in that software anywhere. No problem using CPS 16 or 2.0.

You won’t be able to set those codes when all the channels are set to digital. You need to change the channels that aren’t digital to analog and then you will be able to change the PL DPL tomes by placing the curser over the sub audio DEC / ENC and press the space bar to select PL or DPL
Keep in mind that digital channels do not use the PL or DPL. They use color code and time slot.

The channels that I am trying to get to work are Digital. I have the color and time slot filled in with the correct values but still does not work. The channels that work are both the same transmit and receive frequencies with the correct values. I am stumped. Like I said, when using the CPS software I have no problems with programming.

Make sure the contact listings match the mototrbo radios that use the repeater. Also check that the tx power is high enough to hit the repeater.
also see if the mototrbos can hear the evx-s24. There is info in the help section.
