Anyone notice that Chandler PD isn’t really as busy at times as other surrounding departments like Mesa and Gilbert ? Some mornings I’d be monitoring Chandler PD and I would get nothing for almost a good half hour or longer ( Patrol A and Patrol B ).
Mesa someone’s always yapping away it seems haha

I know other departments across the valley are going to MDT dispatch and communication because of the listening issue and officer safety. Chandler is one of the better cities sure but just cause we aren't hearing it doesn't mean anything is not happening.

Just wanted to make sure that it wasn’t me haha Just wanted to make sure that Patrol A and B did have long times where there’s no activity. For some reason Patrol C hardly ever comes in. I live in Gilbert so figure I would be able to pick everything up.

What hardware are you listening on? I used to think the same thing until I picked up an SDS200 (my first was an SDS100) - which didn't handle the simulcast (hell) that well. I would occasionally receive Chandler PD - but it was more of a fluke when it happened. When I switched to SDS200 - the traffic substantially increased.

I’ve got an SDS100. Phoenix K deck comes in great but Phoenix PD won’t come in at all. Very odd

You will receive K-Deck on a variety of simulcast sites and single sites due to the vast number of users. You will find Phx PD primarily only on Simulcast A and occasional other nearby sites if PD units are close enough. Simulcast A can be a little more difficult to hear if you aren't within range, but you will have much greater success hearing the fire channels on K-Deck.

Man that explains a lot then ! It’s odd that it picks up Glendale and Peoria PD just fine, and they are further away. I live at the south east side of Gilbert a few miles from Queen Creek. Gilbert, AJ, and Mesa all come in fantastic too.

Correcting my earlier comments; I pulled incorrect model numbers out of my head. You should be fine with an SDS100; that's what I have. My original model was a BCD436HP which didn't handle simulcast at all.

Gottcha. But yep fire comes in great but cannot get PPD, or Scottsdale from my location. Being out of range if the simulcast seems to be the issue

Glendale and Peoria PD are on the Phoenix RWC most commonly Simulcast G and Gilbert, AJ, and Mesa are on the Mesa Topaz RWC two separate systems. You shouldn't have any problems hearing the Mesa System. I am surprised you can hear Glendale thou, I can pickup Peoria occasionally off of the White Tanks site but rarely hear Glendale unless they happen to come in on Simulcast B and I am able to receive it at the time.

And only Glendale South A-1 is carried on Simulcast B and G. Glendale North A-4 is solely on Simulcast G. If you're listening to Glendale PD on Simulcast B, you're only hearing half the city.

mbnv - Being located in Connecticut, you're not likely to pick up the RWC under any circumstances.........

Ha I never changed my location. Moved to AZ 5 years ago from CT. Live in southeast Gilbert now.

Been listing for Chandler PD since yesterday and haven’t heard any activity. I’m getting Scottsdale and Glendale, but not chandler or PPD. I’m on the Queen Creek Gilbert border. I can get the TOPAZ talkgroups without issue.

has anyone successfully monitored any activity for Chandler PD recently?

Yes. There is also a Broadcastify Calls feed for Chandler PD:
A2 Patrol A
B2 Patrol B

Chandler PD is only carried on the RWC Simulcast C site. Make sure you have that site enabled, and are within listening range.
