yeah $149 bucks ahhhhhhh not for me!
Well it's like any quality piece of equipment... If it meets your requirements and it's well built, it can last a lifetime.

I really enjoy airshows, and I'd like to enjoy my hearing too. :)

I just purchased the Classic Headset for only $59.95 at the Texas Motor Speedway and watched both races with them using my scanner. They worked awesome and the race is extremely loud. I am not sure if you have ever been to a Nascar race. It is louder than any air show I have ever been to. I feel these would work just fine and you wouldnt have to spend $149.00.

They have 25db noise reduction.

Bose makes some awesome headphones too, we've used them at work to help in noise reduction.

I think this is apples and oranges. :)

I'm currently wearing a pair of Bose QC2 and work and am very pleased with their performance in an office environment and on an airplane. I don't think the Bose's are as sturdy and I don't think they are intended to shield you from the same sort of noise. They have no where near the passive cancellation ability.
