Around 4:00 PM or so tonight, Engine 16 was called to St. Francis hospital to setup an LZ for Life Evac 1. Dispatch told him to switch to TAC 4. So, Engine 16 came up on 153.965 and said "Chesterfield, Engine 16 on TAC 4." Life Evac also contacted him there, calling it TAC 4. So here's my question, is 153.965 always simulcasting TAC 4, or is it only during incidents where a helo is called? I know eveytime Med Flight or Life Evac is responding to a Chesterfield incident they always come up on 153.965, but this is the first time I've heard it refered to as TAC 4. I don't ever hear any other traffic on this freq. except for traffic from incidents where a med. helo has been called.

that is part of the repeater pair chesterfield uses to patch into their TRS. Often times, medflight will use that pair when patched in to the county, and if its anything like the consoles im used to seeing, its a matter of clicking the vhf freq box and patching it to any number of the TRS talkgroups.

thats actually just a simplex freq used to link into their trunked system...

on the particular incident you heard, both Engine 16 and LifeEvac 1 were actually on the 800 MHz side of the system.
