For several months now I have heard both the dispatchers and officers refer to radio channels as Channel 1 or Channel 2. For decades they have been referring to these channels as the "S" (Station) and "C" (Car) channels. I would think that this is not something being done just for the dispatch center in Bishop, but all over the state as the CHP is usually uniform with procedures statewide.

Has anyone else noticed this change in their areas?

Arriving somewhere, but not here . . .
When I worked for CHP from '95 to '98 in the Ventura Comm. Center, we used Ch. 1 for repeated "dispatch" channel and Ch. 2 was the car-to-car "direct" channel.

At the same time, I know there were a couple of CHP dispatchers up north that did refer to their channels as you indicated, S and C.

I don't know if there is a "statewide" push for all of the areas to use the same lingo now.

I do hear the same up here in Monterey CHP 1 dispatch and 2 car-car
I agree as well. I also noticed more TX on repeater #2 then just on the "black" for Monterey.
