Ok here’s a odd question do the CHP El Cajon use another TG or do they go back to using 39.600,after a certain time in the evening or overnight. Why I ask is it seems to get really quiet overnight but during the day they are really active, I see stuff on the chp cad but don’t hear anything on the scanner during the overnight hours but I hear everything during the day. just curious about this. Thanks for the info folks

Gold isn't really used anymore, although the infrastructure is still there and it's worth keeping it in your radio. It's all on the RCS. You probably don't hear much overnight because there isn't much going on. Remember, CHP doesn't call in their stops or any of that, and a lot of it is done via MDT.

It may also be that the talkgroup doesn't have anything affiliated to it in your area in the evenings, depending on which cell of the system you have programmed. All depends on where you are located.

Do you have both TGs in (South, AND east)?
