The city of New Orleans, has officially petitioned the FCC to implement/continue an 800 MHz TRS that is being used under a special STA authorization. The Project 25 TRS is question, is being used jointly with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, to help combat the significant rise in crime, following the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Likewise, due to the decrease in the number of law enforcement officers available to curtail such incidents.

The FCC pending application is: #0002852364

TY for info... Is this officially replacing the EDACS??? Annddddd- since it is already active like the other Gulf Coastal "pending" systems, and the NC VIPER, is it cool to set up on the DB n official statement that the EDACS PV is going bye bye for this one since the original idea for NOLA to go on the LATIE is not exactly accurate anymore?

Especially Long.

Build a bridge, name it after you, and they will come.

No no, you have it all wrong. Build a bridge, name it after a song you wrote, have it go to nowhere really until several years after you have died and charge a toll to cross it anyway; that is the way to do things in LA. :D

I mean , why not give them some string and tin cans ? That'll be their upgrade. It seems like they can't make up their minds on what they want. I mean look at their Police force since Katrina. Our illustrous Governor who BTW can't simple common sense decisions and is in such a hurry to spend surplus funds in a special session that was not needed at this time. She also sends in the State Police and the National Guard to keep the peace. The Bannana Republic lives in New Orleans and Louisiana.

The only reason I can see for her to be in such a hurry to spend surplus funds is so FEMA can't hit the state up for some of the costs of infrastructure that the feds are paying for. That in my book is shameless.

I wasn't knocking the guard, true they are better than NOPD. I was just expressing my view.
