Does anyone know what happened to the St Louis PD???? It's been off air for about a week now???

I dont know, Im not from that area, but I read somewhere that they would be going to go totally encrypted some time later this year. Dont know if thats true or if it has already taken place?

I was just monitoring them about two days ago and the system was working fine then.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the real radio transmission and not an audio feed.
I don't mess with the audio feeds for the local area so I'm no help in that regard.

I saw mention of this as well a while back. I think it was on one of the Yahoo groups for the local area but I'm not positive on that. I've never seen anything official though.

If they do go encrypted then it will be interesting to see what becomes of the new statewide system they are building. The STL City Police department is operated by the Missouri Highway Patrol and if it was their decision to encrypt the city system then I could see them encrypting the new statewide system also.
That would be bad for us hobbyist's.
