Anyone have any good current info on Civil Air Patrol repeaters/channels in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area?
I'm hearing some analog on 148.125 with a PL of 123.0 now, but it's a really weak signal. I've heard some P25 on there recently, but it didn't seem all that strong either (I'm in Bedford). Anyone know where abouts the repeater(s) is(are)?

I'm also scanning 148.15, 148.1375, 141.475, 141.000, 149.275, 150.5625, 139.875, 150.225 and several others, but haven't heard those used.

I realize they probably are not used a whole lot, but it seems like there use to be a lot more activity.

They were running a net in Denison on 148.150 / 100.0 up until recently. There was another one I think out of Dallas on the same frequency with a 67.0 tone.

From what I understand CAP is in the process of a narrow band & digital system swithover. Within the past week I heard new activity on 141.575 / 123.0 which I think was out of Denison. and a unit was calling Sulphur Springs on 148.150 P25 3B4.

Hi Ben, last time I listened to them, which I admit has been a while, they had this set up:

148.150 PL 203.5 AIRBORNE RPTR.
148.150 PL 114.8 DENTON RPTR.
148.150 PL 123.0 NORTH DALLAS/ADDISON RPTR.
148.150 PL 100.0 TARRANT MEACHAM RPTR.

Personally, I have not heard a peep P25 wise....

Believe it or not Ben, CAP is pretty active up here on the Red River during the Spring and summer. Last summer I listened to a weekend long training net run by Waxahachie and covered activity up here also. Friend of mine belongs to the CAP wing in Wylie and he says there pretty active still.

Thanks Guys,
I'll add some of those other PLs. Unfortunately, it seems like 148.15 and 148.125 are very prone to interference on my Unidens, so unless I have PLs with them, I end up locking them out. I did quite a bit of traffic on on 148.125 PL 123.0 this past weekend, but it was fairly week.

They have switched to narrow band according to the last memo. P-25 may be the next step. Many of the new approved radios are NFM and P-25 capable.

Been trying for weeks to find any activity 138-144 and 148-150.8 in the Houston area.
Last activity I confirmed was March last year when they were airborne on 149.5375 100.0 PL.
They used to have a weekly net at 8pm on Thursdays on 148.150.

Maybe a few folks listening on Thur at 2000 hrs...

The 149.5375 100.0 is long retired [was an old wideband]

The RR Wiki is pretty accurate for the basic PL's and NAC's being used.

Now the only issue is tracking down the Repeater Locations. Here in New England, that has been pretty easy in a few states, due to Nightly Radio Nets.

Not much P25 except for a few guys experimenting. Other than those, much of the traffic [including Intercepts with the various Fighter Wings] has been Analog

I did find a document [recent] that listed the Rptr Sites [but no Frequencies]

Abiline
Amarilo
Austin 2 Rptrs [North and South]
Beaumont
Brownsville
Corpus Christi
Dallas 2 Rptrs
Denton
Eagle Peak
El Passo
Fort Worth
Houston
Kerrville
King Mountain
Lubbock
Odessa
San Angelo
San Antonio 2 Rptrs [North and South]
Santa Maria
Sherman
Sulphur Springs - replaces Lubbock
Temple
Tyler
Victoria
Waco
Witchita Falls

148.1500 P25 3B4 is also PL 94.8 Repeater-60, proably in Sulphur Springs?

141.5750 127.3 also P25 4F9 is their CC 1 channel [Simplex]

I checked out the CAP Wiki and plugged in all the freqs yesterday. Maybe I'll have better luck catching them. Searching the UHF fed band did help me find other unrelated stuff though.

The RR CAP WIKI has just been updated with ALL [except the Hi-Birds and Portable] Repeaters and Locations.

Enjoy listening.

Interesting on the Tone, as 123.0 was previously reported for Dallas-North R-11

Unless they swapped our R-11 for R-55 ??? Hmmmm
I dunno - I'll keep an eye on it. I am way up here north of D/FW so its also possible this was another repeater that I happen to have tagged as North Dallas. I'll keep this in Search and see what else pops up.

I'm hearing 150.225 with PL 162.2 with traffic between "Grand Prairie Base", referring to it as "Guard 1".
They're having trouble and trying to get them to use CC1 and Romeo 67. I did catch a hit on 143.625, which I have as Aero/Port repeater input to Aero/Port 148.1375. 10:02 11/20/2010

150.2250 162.2 and $656 would be Guard 1

141.5750 is CC 1 and should be 127.3 and $4F9

Any tone on 143.6250 ?? as they use 4 different tones as the input for
148.1375 Portable or Aero Repeaters

R-67 should be 203.5 and/or $7F3

Interestingly enough, I've had a 4CE NAC on either Sherman or Sulphur Springs now for sometime.

I've heard 149.275 "Air 1" with PL 141.3 several times today in the NE Tarrant county area.
