Two 6B Troopers advised CSP Denver dispatch their radios were reporting "Out of Range" between Eisenhower Tunnel and MM 228 on I-70. Anyone know if Squaw is down?

I heard the traffic off of Lookout. One trooper also reported white-out conditions in the area and asked CDOT to change their message boards to reflect that.

Can 800mHz be affected by "snow fade" if there's enough of it in the air? Just curious.

More Trooper complaints

Didn't really want to resurrect this thread, but Troopers once again tonight are reporting radio failures on I-70 in Clear Creek County. East side of the tunnel. Heard the reports off of Mt. Riley site tonight (2-4-08) at about 1845.

Both a Trooper and "S-22" stated their radios displayed "Out of Range" between the tunnel and Silver Plume, and asked the dispatcher to request that radio techs check it out.

Since it appears they've had regular coverage in the area previously, geography dosen't appear to be the culprit...
