Would anybody have the new frequency or know how to find it? It seems they changed over this weekend.

I probably do...

but what is different about these frequencies? Am I going to need a different kind of scanner to access them? I am not really deep into the technology of it, I just like to listen for fun.
Thanks for any input you are able to offer,
Jacqui

If you do not have a trunktracking scanner, then yes, you need one to see these talkgroups show up on the display.
It is still possible to hear them on a non-trunktracking scanner, but it would be a random chance you would find them. :(

I have a trunking scanner, a Radio Shack Pro-162. When/if I shop for a new scanner, can you give me an idea of what to look for so I can hear the talk groups, please??

Thank you.
Now if I could just figure out how to program it in to the scanner. I have been reading the manual and trying but it is CONFUSING. My son even tried. Oh well, I will get it in a couple of days, time and patience!!!

Ok, I can't figure out how to do the talkgroup thing. Is there a way to find the frequencies so I can create a channel?

Coconut Creek is dispatched as part of the Broward county trunked system. Many other city Fire Departments and the Sheriff Fire/Rescue are also dispatched on this system. I would strongly recommend you get one of the software options to program this scannerr. I do not have this brand or model so I can't offer you any opinion on one over the other. Once you get the sites set up you can get all the Broward County, Ft Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Dania, Hollywood, Dania, and Coral springs and all the others that are dispatched. Once you get those in place you can get Palm Beach County and Miami and Miami Dade County dispatches. Google the Broward county fire station numbers as all stations have a number assigned in the order they were built. If you don't have a score card you can't always figure out what town has been dispatched. I should add that one or two systems (coral springs) and some Palm Beach systems have been rebanded so you need to account for those. Broward proper has not been rebanded. but there are multiple sites.

As someone else mentioned the easiest way is with the software and the cable from Radio Shack. They have the software for the PRO162.

Software for Uniden HOME PATROL HP1 HP-1 PRO-700 Radioshack GRE GRECOM MFJ DSE AOR police scanner software BCD996XT BCD396XT BC346T BCT15X PRO-404 PRO-405 PRO-97 PRO-96 PRO-2096 PRO-106 PRO-197 PRO-164 PRO-160 PRO-162 psr500 psr600 psr300 psr400 psr1

nagatha,

I would recommend that you join the SEFlorida scanner monitoring list on Yahoo Groups. There are a great bunch of folks there with lots of knowledge and willingness to help.
