Tonight, I just heard 1x series cars being dispatched on 1328 Zone 1. This is in addition to the usual 18x 7x and 2x units. 1 Precinct (1x) cars used to be on 1424 Zone 4...the weird thing is though that these 1x series units I'm hearing on Zone 1 sound like that is their usual patrol area now because they were sent to runs that are inside 18 Precinct boundaries.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Safer, or not? | Columbus Dispatch Politics

The plan expands the number of precincts to 20. It splits two of the biggest precincts -- the 18th on the North Side and the 14th on the Far East Side -- roughly in half. The 1st precinct, which includes Victorian Village, Italian Village and the Short North, would be absorbed into two neighboring precincts, the 4th and 16th.

Did the zones stay the same or did they change as well as the percents. Anyone have access to a decent sized map? I'm aware there was one in the article posted but even enlarged its impossible to read.

Here is the "unoffical" new zone/precinct line up:

Zone 1. Pct. 1 - 2 - 6 - 18

Zone 2. Pct. 9 - 13 - 14 - 20

Zone 3. Pct. 8 - 10 - 15 - 19

Zone 4. Pct. 3 - 4 - 5 - 17

Zone 5. Pct. 7 - 11 - 12 - 16

New 1 Pct is now northern part of old 18 Pct (Polaris area).
Old 1 Pct was absorbed into 3,4 and 16 Pcts.
Old 6 Pct is now part of New 7 Pct.
New 6 Pct is now old northern part of 7 Pct.
20 Pct is old southeastern part of 14 Pct.
16 Pct absorbed part of 8 Pct.

Zone 4. Pct. 3 - 4 - 5 - 17

Zone 5. Pct. 7 - 11 - 12 - 16

Thanks for the list. One error I noticed this evening though: 17 precinct is dispatched on Zone 1.

The only major change appears to be 17 Precinct moving to Zone 1 (puzzling), but other than that the zones appear to pretty similar geographically to the way they were before.

Saved! Thanks!

I talked to a few CPD guys and they arent happy at all about this.

They as well aren't happy that future plans are for each zone to have one sergeants per 2 districts.

I'm glad I don't live within the city limits of the 9 ring circus.

Oh Great!!! Now I have to open up 3-zones to listen to the one I used to (Z-4). Oh well, the 2nd and 5th precincts do get a little lively from time to time. Guess I'll have to split my radios on dedicated assignments. It would've been more convenient (for me anyway) for each pct. to have their own TG. Dispatch could still patch the groups as necessary.

hey ohio guys...

just wondering if the CPD freq in the database reflect the new redistricting?

i just ran a new antenna cable for my bct15 an i havent listened to CPD since before the redistricting.

I like to listen to only my area (Zone 3 under the new plan), i was going to reload the new stuff this afternoon if i am effected.

The CPD talkgroups didn't change (the zone 3 talkgroups from before are the zone 3 talkgroups now, etc.). Neither did the frequencies for the trunked system.
