I just called the local radio shack for the discount on the PRO-96 here in the San Diego area. He said that he did not have some coupons but you can get them online at thier website. I did not find it of course. Sounds like the big gaff-off. Any other ideas?

I got the discount today on the Pro 96! I am extremely happy about it!

Called every corporate store in my area they said you have to physically have the coupon in hand when you walk into the store.

Walked in to the store and said hi to the sales clerk, commented on how nice the store looked and asked about purchasing a PRO-2096. I also asked her if she had and Friends & Family coupouns and she said sure do!!!.. They only had the display model so they are going to ship one to me. Should be here next week..$295.00, a great deal if you ask me. Cheaper than when I purchased my PRO-96 last Thanksgiving at $350.00....

Got my 2096 Friday...With the sale price, the Friends and Family discount and the 10% for applying for their credit card the grand total was $252.00....NOW THAT'S NOT TOO SHABBY!!!!!

Went to the local RS tonite to buy my annual present to myself.
First after checking online to see who might have my desired 2096, I hopped in my trusty Jeep and arrived between shopping mobs.
Pleasant salesperson retrieved my future 2096 from the storeroom( I'll never figure out how they expect to sell a product if it's not displayed).
But I digress.
Arriving at the register I was asked if I would be interrested in a RS credit card it comes with a 10% discount. Sure I said....$399-10%=$359 (card will be cancelled next month).
While at said register I inquired about a freinds and family discount coupon.
The manager said he only had one available and it was expired.
Hmmmm....I said.
No worries, he replied I might be able to back date it.
Go ahead and purchase the radio of your dreams.
"I will take care of the discount." he said.
$359-30%=$251-taxes.
"Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all" I said as I hauled A** out of the store.

Kinda glad I didn't see all this in time to take advantage or I'd probably be looking for a discount on my divorce. If these become available again hopefully the topic will pop-up as a new thread that we can all jump on.

Radio Shack Coupon

I asked my local Radio Shack about the discount and they said I had to have a coupon (for the F&F 30% off) : (

But........In the last hour RS emailed a coupon (see link below) for 10% off good through 12/23/05. Who knows how long this link will be good.

Guess its still better than nothing for those of us that can't get the 30%. Guess you could open an RS card for another additional 10% off with this coupon too.

Is the '2096 still on sale? When does it end? It isn't according to the R/S web site. What about the '2055?

I understand that the 2096 is on sale "IN STORE" until 12/24.

But check online for availability at a local store.

Mine was listed at $499 also.
Until they scanned it, then it showed $399.
Go to your local store on a weekday.
You have a better chance of finding a manager or asst. manager.
A weekend part-timer probably didn't scan, just checked a data file.
Most RS's are franchised owned, haggling can be done.
