I’ve got an SDS100 scanner. Great beginner scanner I guess? I’ve got some frequencies for the NCSHP. I do not have any TGIDs. How do I go about getting them? I’ve used the software for the scanner and added the “common” freqs and TGIDs added automatically. I understand there’s no formal list, just what’s been added here on RR. I’ve found and have been given frequencies but without the TGID I think they’re useless?

First the SDS100 is the most advanced up to date scanner out there, not a beginners model.

Second, if you want NCSHP frequencies or talkgroups all you have to do is look in the RR database

If you want the NCSHP Radio IDs, the basic ranges and some specific ones are available in the RR wiki

A little searching on the site will reveal lots of information you and others need.

could you post the freqs ?
and/or did you check to see if they are in the database.

Apparently he did not look at the database page which has over 2000 talkgroups for the state as well as new towers/sites being submitted when they are verified.

Is there another name for a talk group because I didn’t see anything specifically mention I don’t believe. I have searched and found a lot of information. I found sites, frequencies but I apparently overlooked the tgid.

Talkgroups are called Talkgroups and are right under the frequencies for the sites.

No other names for a talkgroup from a Uniden standpoint. Also you didn't specify what app you're using: Sentinel? Proscan? something else? In Sentinel, use the tree view to select state, "statewide", ...VIPER, then select your county and you should see the talkgroups on the right-hand side. Select the talkgroups you want to add then right-click "Append to favorites list"

I’m using sentinel and have created a separate list inside the “viper” section. I’m going to let my scanner go in “search mode” and add the TGID references from RaleighGuy.

Here is a favorites list file for you to try. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Go to the Tools tab in Sentinel and set Target Model to SDS100. Go to the File tab and click on Import from hpe file (Favorites List). Click on New Favorites List and name it: Camden/PasqCo NC Click on OK. In the Downloads folder, open the extracted file. It will appear as a favorites list in Sentinel. Go to the Edit tab and click on Edit Profile. Click on Scan Selection tab. Remove check marks from Monitor Full Database and Monitor Search with Scan. Click on the Camden/PasqCo NC favorites list and set both Download and Monitor to On. If there should be any other favorites lists, click on them and set both Download and Monitor to Off. Close the Profile Editor. Go to the File tab and click on Save. Plug the programming cable into your computer. Turn on the scanner and then plug in the cable. Press E on scanner keypad to enter USB Mass Storage. Go to the Scanner tab in Sentinel and click on Write to Scanner. Your scanner model and serial number should appear in the popup window. Check the box to Erase Favorites Lists on Scanner. Click on OK. If there is a warning that favorites lists on scanner will be erased, click on OK. The favorites list will be written to the scanner. Eject the scanner and remove the cable. The favorites list will be scanning. Set scanner squelch to 2. There are a trunked system and a conventional system in the favorites list. Thank you for the list. I just started from scratch with my favorite list. Now, whenever I try to download something with a Viper the entire list down loads in Sentinel. It did not used to do that. Lol so I will definitely give you a list of try.

This is almost EXACTLY what I had as a favorite list initially. Installed without issue. Not sure but I think we're on the same wave length in regards to what we'd like to hear.
