ok guru's. i finally got a new laptop. it has vista. anyway, my question is, when i plug in my gre cable into any of the usb ports, the light on the cable start blinking like it's sending something. and on the scanner, it shows incorrect model on the display. anyone have any ideas? it's frustrating not being able to use win96. thanks for your help.

Did you get any error messages when you installed the driver?

Make sure you using the latest driver: http://www.radioshack.com/product/i...productId=2177609&support=support&tab=support

Also verify that you are using the correct com port selected in Win96. You can find this in the control pannel/performance and maintenance/system/hardware tab/device manager/ports (COM & LPT). Example: USB Serial Port (COM6)

Good luck with the Vista operating system. It is full of bugs and has little support
for most of the programs we all love to use. Few drivers are available for the vista
to work with devices that haven't just come out of a new box by a major supplier.
