• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Does anyone know if I can hear police, fire, ems calls from Corpus Christi on my computer.
I have family there and I would really like to listen to what goes on there.
I can not afford to by a home or hand held scanner, so the internet is all I have.

Thanks in advance for any help you all can give me.

The only place that I know of is on the Caller Times website. It has a subscription feed. For the price of the subscription you should be able to find a decent used Pro-94. The last I heard Corpus Christi will not be affected by rebanding. Therefore an EDACS trunker will work for you.

Like LarryN said, the only one that I know of is the Caller Times one, but I didn't feel like paying the fee, and not being able to put the scanner were I wanted to since I would have to be at the computer. I bought a new Pro-97 scanner for $150.00 online at RadioShack.

I can pick up Corpus from Portland really good.

Were is it that you live at?

I'm sure you can find one on EBAY for a good price. It needs to pick up EDACS
