That depends - most of the current trackers will do this IF the system is a true P25 system. If it's a mixed mode system (digital audio on an analog system), you would still need to enter a custom table of some kind, I think...if you are unsure, or can't get your programming to work, the next step is for someone to dig into the system using a discriminator-tapped scanner and utilities like UniTrunker...73 Mike

Neither; a cable goes from the discriminator tap's jack to a soundcard input.

UniTrunker - The RadioReference Wiki

You should be aware that it takes a fair amount of knowledge in trunk system mechanics to really understand what the program is showing you. 73 Mike

You find unknown base, step, offset info by watching the control channel to discover what channel number corresponds with what frequency (by watching to see what frequency is talking when the CC monitor software says they're using channel XXX), and figuring out what fits those numbers.

The tricky part is that a system might have multiple table entries, which will show up as channel numbers/frequencies that cannot be made to 'fit' a single simple bandplan. Then you get to guess where the different table areas start/end. It doesn't matter if your results are the 'official' ones (that is, perfectly correct), as long as they don't add a frequency. If your guesses WORK, for all the current frequencies, they're good enough.

Another angle (because odds are that someone else has done the ground work already), have you checked the database to see if the system(s) in question are in there? What about the state section for the system(s)? A lot of really interested people have monitored pretty much any scannable system in the United States already, and more than not are willing to help with information.
