Conventional p25 RID programing

I have been trying to program conventional motorola p25 system so I can get the RID as I do in the trunked systems. I must be missing something when I set up the single channel trunking system. Does anyone have a step by step procedure to program this? I am using free scan software. 396xt Thank you.

After you program your scanner with FreeScan. Go to your 396XT menus for that 'system' make sure it doesn't have NAC "000" in there for that freq. Set it to search,etc I had to do it on mine last year!...

Are you tying to view the ID via the radio itself or the software?

If it's through the radio, make sure you are in mode 2 or mode 3. I prefer mode 3.
