If one has the programming information in a Win95 file (p95) and needs to have the same set up on a Pro-97 (with Win97), here's a couple of methods I could think of:

1. Convert the .p95 file to a .p97 file: WinXX Data Converter doesn't support Win97 :(
2. Export information from the Pro-95 to a CSV file, then import it into Win97: Win95 doesn't seem to have an export feature

So I'm stumped. Any other suggestions?

I thought of that but I guess I blanked out on that option. I was more interested in an automated option but I guess I'm out of luck.

Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V it is. Thanks.

Yes, copy and paste... whole channel banks at a time, whole id lists at a time, from win95 into Excel spread sheet. Then you can edit and manipulate, customize, etc (eg. sort by alpha tag, or numerical order, on the spread sheet), then copy blocks at a time from spread sheet into win97.

Bear in mind that aphanumeric spaces in win97 are a max of 16.. If a block does not want to paste properly from spread sheet to win97, it is most likely that at least one alphanumeric entry has more than 16 characters... counting spaces and all.

I just opened up both (Win95 and Win97) and copied over a table at a time - banks & talkgroups. Since it went from the 12 char to 16 char, there wasn't any rejection. This sort of copy-paste gets the tags and freqs but not the Dly, Att & Lock settings.

That is because the column counts are not the same between the two. Pro-95's have no tone capability; hence, no tone column in the software.
