I am new here to the forums on RR I have a general question I think. I am to understand that scanner cast is what is used to make the connection between your scanner and computer to RR broadcasting it,so far is this correct? If so is Scanner Cast proprietary to RR or can somebody get a copy of scanner cast and use it to stream scanner broadcasts on their own website not going through RR? If so where do we get it and what is the procedure to do this? If it is Proprietary to RR, then what is available for a person to stream live feeds from their scanner on their own website?

I am not saying I would not use RR to stream calls but had also thought of wanting to do some local stuff off my own website.

Thanks for the info, however I am not totally sure it answers my question entirely. Can anybody download scancast from your website run it on whatever computer they are going to run it on. And do their own streaming on their own website without going through RR at all?

I just wrote a reply but I think it ended up as a new post instead of replying to this thread.
What I said was I thank you for the information, however I am not totally sure it answered my question exactly. Can we Download Scanner Cast to my computer, set it up and run it, and stream our broadcasts on our own website with no problem what so ever without even going through RR at all.

You kept refering to RR in most of what I read so I did not know if you are letting them use it only, or is it for anybody, that may or may not want to broadcast on RR.

Yes... It let's you listen to your scanner across your own network, or via the internet, with or without RR. That's why it says, in the third line on the page I referred you to:

Lets you listen to your scanner across your own network, or via the internet (with or without a RR feed)

The web site, which has several pages about ScannerCast, tries to make this clear. If you read carefully, you'll see all the configuration steps you need to setup your own copy of ScannerCast so you can listen to your scanner remotely... or even from a web page.
