• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi all. Does anyone know if the cp200xls can reset by itself and go back to scanning mode after receiving a 2 tone (quik call ii) page?

Mine just stays on the freq it alerted on but quietly of course. I have to press a button to take it back into scan mode.

Do you have access to the CPS for it? If you do, look for "Alert Tone Auto Reset" or some variation on that. The online avail. manual does't indicate specifically that it can do that, but if it could - CPS would have a field similar to that (as the Pro Series radio do)

That didn't really answer my question. I'm pretty sure I understand what you're saying it's doing, but I can't remember that CPS too well, and I don't have it in front of me to see if that option is in it. Do you have access to that CPS?

Im by the cps now.

It says that alert tone auto reset when checked, causes the radio to generate only 1 sequence of the call alert, call alert w/voice tone for the current qcii signalling system.

I need the radio to start scanning the other alert channels/freqs after the auto reset timer expires.

Ok, that sounds pretty similar to the way the Pro series handled that.

I forbade scanning on the QCII channels on our system over reliability issues, so I couldn't really remember how it handled tone activation in a scan list. TBH, if you're scanning - the QCII tones are already a racket OTA and should get your attention enough - do you really need the radio to also alert? If you disable the QCII selcal on that scan list entry - does it revert to scan after the tones hit? I'm racking my brain here ... this goes a long way back for me. I'm thinking that alerting to a QCII tone set in a scan list might be an unnecessary level of complication with what you're trying to accomplish.
