    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

CPS not showing up in MyView software entitlements

Hi all, I have an issue where CPS is not showing up on my software entitlements in MyView.

I ordered the APX and MOTOTRBO CPS last week, and never received an email on how to download it. After contacting Motorola support it just so happened to come the next day, but then I saw it was only showing up under the features section and not the software section and thus I am unable to download it. I contacted Motorola again, they said the issue would be resolved within 24 hours and the customer service rep would have the case close in 72 hours, sure enough it did not resolve in 24 hours and I contacted the rep again who said he would forward it to the "corresponding team" and so far it's been 6 days without hearing anything back from them.

My question is, is there any other way in MyView to get it and if there is not what do you recommend I do? Should I call up support rather than emailing tomorrow?

Did you "subscribe" to them? You have to go to the Entitlements > Software section, click on the +Subscribe button, select APX Firmware, ASTRO CPS, and whatever MOTOTRBO selections are applicable, then hit the Add button. They usually show up on the list within the hour.

This did come to mind, however the options are greyed out. I did start adding all the APX/MOTOTRBO stuff but even that stuff does not show up under software, it shows up under features

Okay yeah if the selections are greyed out then something is FUBAR and they'll need to fix it on their end. Unreal, MyView was supposed to make things easier, not harder, than 1998 era MOL. 💩

MyView is so effed' up. We are a city municipal radio shop yet our MyView ACCT has both us and our county accounts linked together. I can log in and select either city or county. Only headache is that CPS & FW only shows up under the county account. We have told our local CSM and our Account Rep about this and have even called in to MOL and no one has ever been able to fix it.
Then you add in the fact that I can still log into the old MOL and access the software from the resource center....it is almost as if Motorola got halfway through creating MyView and decided to say "eff it. Just leave MOL up and running and mirror everything to MyView".
So infuriating that they can't get their shizz together.

Wait until you start using Radio Central and Command Central. Still trying to get our agency/customer name corrected a year later.

Oh God we are trying to avoid that at all costs.....sooner or later we will be forced to migrate but we have resisted it so far. We are ok staying in the "stone age" of physically touching each radio if need be.

I have a case opened for this. 1/2 my staff can download and have are greyed out. Same settings for all.

Sometime we need to talk.
We've been having fun with Smart Connect...until the third party backhaul provider pushed some kind of update that caused havoc on the core, resulting in MULTIPLE voice channels assigned to a talkgroup, almost like a patch but not. Caused system busies and console busies for days. Nothing like paying to be a beta tester!

To the O/P, good luck with getting your CPS entitlements.

I had the same exact problem when I bought my APX subscription. The way I got it fixed was to call and bug the crap out of people until they fixed it. It took several days of speaking to several different people each day for a week. I had to channel my inner Karen. Sometimes you got to do what you got to do. It's absolutely ridiculous a multi billion dollar company cannot get their website to work, so you can access things you paid lots of money for. With that being said, good luck, and I hope you get it resolved soon.

For what it's worth, it took me a bunch of support cases, and I believe 3 months of support tickets before I got my entitlements.

I mean, I get nervous when some of our customer support tickets here at RR/BCFY age more than 3-4 days. I actually had a support ticket that took well over 45 days before it was worked and closed regarding my entitlements.

Crazy.
