We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Does anyone know what Cranford Police are operating on after the storm. I know their HQ was under a few feet of water and both their currently UHF digital system and their old VHF repeater was located in the basement. I finally had a chance to click them on today and heard silence.

Anyone have any ideas?

I heard an agency using 460.1000 during the storm; it may have been them, but I had my focus on other channels at the time so I'm not 100% positive. Whoever was on that freq. though, I remember them saying: "we'll stay on this channel for now."
