Are there any amateur radio repeaters in Crested Butte ? More importantly with coverage back to Kebler Pass Irwin area ? What about GMRS ?

Is there someone in the Denver area that can program Astras ?

Thanks

The 147.120 machine is located just North of Gunninson at Latitude 38.55 x Longitude 106.9 but that will not cover the area your referring too I don't believe and GMRS in the mtns non repeater supported is often times not better than a little better than line of site, same with FRS.

What is your purpose?

I lived in "the Butte" for 15 years and don't remember any ham operators in town then. I would have likely noticed, because Dad was getting himself licensed and his shack up & running (back in the midwest) while I was ski bumming.

But that's been 15 years ago, too. Ah, who am I kidding...closer to 20, now. At any rate, the mountains in the area are rugged and I'd have to agree with the poster above who said transmitting would likely be little better than line-of-sight.

Hope you get your answer...

Regards.
