The previous thread was about a drill in Davis Co to distribute Flu Vaccines. No conection with the Chemical Depot at Tooele. From what I can tell, the CSEPP involves only the possible chemical release from the Depot. So, I believe two seperate things.

So this drill will be held this week on the 12th.

I am not sure what all will be involved but I do know that primary operations will be at Camp Williams and should get started around 09:00...

With that being said, Nelson Peak (Site 11), Salt Lake County (Site 03), Utah County (Site 04) are the high potentials for traffic as I see it.

Very busy weekend indeed, seems to coincide with AB7ST's post in this thread

AB7ST said:
On another subject: There will be a Red Cross 'Planned Emergency' the morning of September 12th in the SL Valley. Among other things, they will:

"Test the Red Cross commuinication systems and use the trunking radios and famiiarize with their operations and function".

I'll be there, as part of ARES, using one of their new, trunking HT's

Don't ask -- I don't know anything more about their trunking -- TG's, etc. Ham repeaters will also be in use -- If you want to monitor, try 146.700 Ensign Peak, 145.490 'voice from Tooele' Much of the exercise is secret -- which is the purpose of the test -- The 'event' will happen mid-morning, the test should be complete by noon.

Listened to a conversation of UCAN Engineers this morning. They have a trailer they are getting ready to take out tomorrow. Did not hear where it was going. There was some concern about it "taking the new frequencies" which seems to support or other intel.

Wouldn't you like to get a few minutes in that trailer with a jump drive.

This Is Only A Test

A lot of chatter on TG: 40704 Tooele Ops1 all of the training stuff appears to be pre-fixed with the term "Test Message".

Looks like I may already be starting. They are using simulated roll-over on SR-36 @ 2400N involving a Deseret Chemical Depot truck carrying unknown HazMat.

Update 0943hrs
Yep this is it. They are now working on some downwind ploting of the plume, contacting Utah Co for notification of incident etc. . .

Furhter Update TG 18624 Event 7 also getting active.

Update 1003hrs
Getting some stuff on Utah Co. Ops 1 42976 now too.

I just got home from participating in the CSEP drill. I was assigned to Tooele EOC, and was communicating with the Red Cross HQ on the Ensign Pk ham repeater.

I can't tell you about the whole thing, as I didn't hear it -- but the Tooele EOC was very impressive.

Made some new friends, and am working on getting an up to date TG list through 'to be unnamed sources -- who knows?)

Bet I could take a guess on the unamed source :)

Yes it is amazing on what hundreds of thousands of federal tax dollars can buy, nothing but the best for those guys. They actually have a very hard time finding things to spend all their money on some years I think.

I was posted at Camp Williams for the drill...

After the drill the emergency response vehicles were intended to go to the SLCo EOC for a show and tell. I got there right as they were packing up. I did get to see the FBI Mobile Command Post. It was really nice! They have only had it for about a year and it is still really shiny and new...

This drill is happening again today. I do not have much info but there will likely be some traffic on UCAN (probably site 11).

UPDATE: As of 10:00
I am copying traffic on Event 8 (TG: 18656) and Hospital Common (TG: 17152)

Just a quickie review....

The exersize went fairly well, with the exception of the hospital system Ecomms.. That crashed 5 minutes into the exersize, and State was out of the loop for two hours until an old, VHF link was found and used.

In addition to the normal, Mustard Gas leak, they simulated the spagetti bowl being bombed.

This is interesting as I was copying hospital traffic on the State Hospital TG. They did a roll call and passed test messages to several hospitals.
