Wondering why I never hear traffic from them here in the Metro area with my 996 while mobile.

I have all the DTRS sites within 1A as well as Denver programmed in, but never hear any CSP 1A traffic on them. I realize that only the sites nearest my location will be able to be recieved and I get traffic from Adams S/O and Arapahoe S/O off those same sites, but never CSP.

Jim, Phil or Troop - any ideas?

Is the Bennett tower an option?...I dont have a scanner but know that one of our VHF channels used to be Bennett (at the rest area)...I know at least our west cars will be on that one or a metro tower

With the GPS managing the sites, anytime I'm in Aurora or SE Denver, those sites are active on the 996. Are those the closest to Denver that the 1A cars typically affiliate with?

Remember also that 1A is often patched so they won't come up on 1A channel itself.

which by the way is total joy! esp. when they're yapping all day long (1C/3B)

Dispatch would be better of putting the talk groups into a multi-select and using the instant transmit function to transmit on one talk group or the other so that the talk groups remain separate, but the dispatcher can hear both at the same time through the select speaker (their headset).

Maybe that's too much work, though :)

We would never hear each other and end up stepping on each other all day long, some dispatchers do that when breaking others and you can see exactly what i'm talking about. It was real bad in the VHF days when 1A and 1D were patched....no way to hear each other

On a similiar subject.

Did they replace, eliminate or superglue the mic gain on the infamous wireless headsets CSP Denver dispatch has been using for the past several years? They all are at a normal level and sound quality has been real good the past several days.

I think after they've done some updates, the audio has improved and that might have help with the gain problem......I first noticed the sound quality in our 10-99 tone, before it was distorted and now it's just about crystal clear

It's great not having extremely loud and distorted dispatcher voice traffic on the Uniden 296 and 796 again. Been taking the 296 to work since Boulder Fire went narrowband.

With network first getting up and running CSP has been blowing us out of the water on Metronet and similar channels. We would adjust the level so they would not be blowing us out and when another agency would call we would not hear them at all. So I know they have been working on adjusting audio levels. It's been better but they are still pretty loud at times.
