Does anyone know the TX freq for CSX. i know the RX is 160.2300 and the RX for the Dispatcher is 160.3200. The TX for the Road is all i need.

THanks

Well they are all AAR Frequencies and they are Simplex. Usually they do not run PLs. Now some crafty railroads will set on the old radios to TX on one of the allocated frequencies and RX on another one. Kinda a lowtech duplex but it does not got through a conventional repeater. I think they us voters or a fiber optic link that can then be broadcast locally. The Jacksonville Dispatcher call all the shots outside of the Terminal. Cumberland Terminal Tower controls from a certain Milemarker to another. Before a train leaves the Terminal he must get permission from Jacksonville. The same goes for switches on the tracks. Jacksonville contols outside the terminal and so forth. I have a map of the Cumberland Terminal and which swithes are locally controlled and which come from Jacksonville. I think 160.320 is the Jacksonville dispatcher frequency but the tower in Cumberland uses it sometimes. Now Cumberland uses .230 for a Yard Channel to coordinate trains through the Cumberland Terminal. The West Hump also has a frequency for "Humping Cars".

This may be a good place to check channels. It looks like they are Wide Band but there are plans to make them NFM and looks like trunked. Of course all the Railroad companies aren't going to buy all new radios for the engines.

This is also a good reference for the Cumberland MD area. http://mtnsub.org/

If you give me a day to get to my Squirrel book I will send you a breakdown of the Cumberland Terminal channel usage. I hope I answered your question and didn't bog you down with extra info.

thank KB3NTX, i hear you on the 146.88 repeater(i think) here in keyser a good bit. See i want to get all the AAR freq programed in to a GE radio that i have. From what i under stand is that most of the input freq are the RX as well? See My plan is that i can have that ready for the summer when i volunteer at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. I hope to get my Ham licence this summer as well i find it a joy to listen in on you all durring your nets, especially W8OO and W8FZP at mid night.

thanks agian,
Dan
