curiosity about label on back of psr600

ok while doing the discriminator mod pictures attach i stumble on a disclaimer on the back of the radio where the black tag is it clearly state mod to this radio to receive cellular is against the law. here is where i'm stump if cellular is deleted from the factory as to no way to modified it why would they put that label with that statement.????? to me is like a hint.???heheheehehehe

Just standard label required on the products, all scanners have that on them, modifiable or not its required.

I don't think its a big deal anymore anyway. I mean i own stuff that can receive the cellular band, but since everything is CDMA now anyway it doesn't matter, all you hear is....

Nothing...

Back in the day of analog cell phones it was different.

Basically that sticker is there to allow the FCC to check the box that users are alerted to the fact that they're not to modify the radio to allow it to receive cellular phone frequencies. Have no fear, there's also other checkboxes for the FCC to make sure that the mod isn't as simple as moving a jumper, shorting some pins, or removing a diode or zero ohm resister.
