Just came down to the OBX. Noticing Currituck Sheriff Active on Viper on Bodie Island and Kitty Hawk Viper Sites. The past years that I have came down, I have never seen them active on Viper.

I spend most of the summer in Rodanthe and noticed this as well. Been hearing them since March, it was a nice surprise as I thought they were all encrypted
You must be taking about Dare County not Currituck. So are you listening to Dare Sheriff on VIPER or on the county radio system? Thank you very much for the report.

I asked a friend of mine who works there, Pd had coverage issues, Fire was happy with the coverage as they use simplex channels for ops

Gotcha, I was down at the visitor center getting my 4x4 pass and had it parked in Currituck on VIPER and the P25 conventional and got activity on the conventional P25 more then VIPER

I didn’t hear any currituck traffic when I went through today.
I’ve heard more on the encrypted side then on VIPER, then again I’m in KDH so I’m guessing Currituck isn’t affiliating with any Dare sites

I'm in Rodanthe this week. Dare County trunked system seems to be spotty. Is the database missing any frequencies ?
No, most likely it's your scanner setup, Dare is very hard to monitor
