I've been trying to monitor progress on the Curry Fire on Mt. Diablo since Tuesday and despite having CalFIRE programmed into my scanner I am not picking anything up. I know I can hear the county fire frequencies as I am hearing calls but CalFire is silent. Do you have to be close to an event to pick up Calfire or is the databse not current? I am using a BCD396XT with a W-889 antenna on it so unless they are broadcasting from the other side of the hill I should be able to pick them up.

Curry fire is listed on the Calfire website as 100% contained as of yesterday, there's probably not much going on by now. I am also located in Concord, heard the air controllers and aircraft on CalFire Tac-22 quite well on my BC346XT Tuesday night during the height of it; also additional traffic on aircraft band 127.325
