Since I had 2 junk collector slots, I figured it would be best to use one for the scanner. The first install was a 796D, custom cut to fit. Changed to the PRO-2096, had to make some minor alterations, but looks great.
Took advantage of the rear cargo light, pulled that out drilled the antenna hole and fished the cable over and down the door track.

Nice install

I have a 06 Chevy 1500 4X4 Red looks the same inside, right down to the Garmin 2720. .

Please share how you made that console as it is what I have been looking for.

Looks great, wish my p/u had that dash, but I've got the smaller center console :(
I mounted my 2096 on the bottom of the dash, in the center. Maybe I will get brave & send in a pic soon.....LOL

I'm liking the H-D decal to....

How about that? After getting an '04 Tahoe a few weeks ago, this is the same plan that I have! The '96 will live in there till the 996T comes out, then I make an immediate swap. I hope to have my install done this weekend if all goes well.

Go to the dealer and buy another piece for your dash and cut that out, that way you can put the original back in when you sell or trade in.. The peice was about 55.00 wholesale, as I have a licesnsed business, I think that is 25% off list price. Also you will have to cut some plastic braces in the back of all that where it slides in. I used a ROTO ZIP to do all mine.

Garry, thanks for the heads up, it got my "extra" insert last week in fact. But damn, it cost $70 or so for mine! Oh well, what's a few bucks for a hobby you love. :)

EDIT: My plans are to run a remote speaker and mount it to the left of the cupholders. How did you do yours?

The speaker is to the rear of the drivers seat and under it. Keeps the wife happy! I used a Uniden ESP12 Speaker, has great audio.
