Hi is anyone interested in making a few dollars and doing some custom programming for me? Here is my issue; i ordered some programming done for me for 3 counties from scannermaster and i expected everything from those 3 counties that i ordered to be in there, but they only put police ems and fire and that's it. Needless to say, i feel kinda ripped off. Where is aircraft, business, corrections, federal, ham, interop, media, military, public works, railroad. schools, ,transportation, utilities, etc etc etc??? for those counties that i ordered? So what i am asking is can someone here please make me a custom program for those counties that i wanted? I'll be more than glad to pay you for your services and would really appreciate your help with this. Please dont say for me to do it myself. I dont have the knowledge or time to learn the software right now. Thanks if anyone willing to help.

Look in the Pennsylvania forum under Bucks County reception. Look at some post from the last 2 days. And that involves Bearcat Warehouse.

The advantage is, work at it, study radio reference and the database. Forget the manual, get marks easier to read manual. Plenty of good people here that will work you through it, that number of people is getting less and less now.

The best person to program your radio, is you! Hope you find somebody that will do it for you properly. Compensate them well.

If you don't have the proper Service Types enabled, you'll be missing some of the services you list.

Did you call ScannerMaster and ask them for a hint?

Sounds more like Operator Error to me .
I would agree. When the scanner is first shipped, and/or Sentinel is installed, only Dispatch types for Public Safety are enabled, along with "Custom 1", which is the default for manually entered channels. You also need to enable Tac and Talk service types for Law, Fire, EMS, and Multi. Examples Law Talk, Fire Tac, EMS Tac, etc. If you also want business, rail, aircraft, & others, be sure that those service types are enabled as well.

Without looking at your programming file, I have no idea whether or not anything other than Public Safety was entered. If you'll export your Favorites list into an *.hpe file, any number of us could take a look & suggest any changes needed.

If you have not already done so, install Sentinel & read the scanner into Sentinel. That should result in the Favorites list being visible in Sentinel's main window.

On the drop-down File menu, select 'Export to hpe file (Favorites list).
Select your list and proceed with the export. Note the name you gave it, and where it is saved on your PC.
Using Windows Explorer (Windows 10 calls it 'File Explorer'), find the exported file.
<Right><Click> on it.
You'll get a pop-up menu.
Select "Send To" and choose Compressed (Zipped) Folder
That will create a file, the same name as the hpe file you exported, but with a *.zip extension instead of hpe. You can attach that zip file to a post.

I would also reach out to ScannerMaster, and advise them of your concerns about what was programmed.

If you own a computer and download teamviewer i can do it easily, i do many everyday my friend
Hi yes i have a computer but why would i need team veiwer? Couldnt you just make the files i need and attach in email and just send to me and i could paypal you?

i talked to scannermaster and they told me that they only put police ems and fire. It seems as though they are trying to decide what they think i want to listen to and take short cuts to make money. It doesnt seem fair to me at all. I paid for entire county programming and only get police ems and fire

Yeah I too don't understand the need to take over someone's computer just to program a scanner when other methods like email, Google Drive, attachments via this forum, etc can easily be used to send & receive programming files

I’m not sure what you “zipped” but it definitely is not a Favorites list downloaded from your scanner into Sentinel.

The maximum size for a Favorites list in these scanners is one megabyte. A zipped file is compressed and smaller than the unzipped source file.

Did you, instead, zip one or more of the main database files?

What county and state are you programming for?

Beltram, he indicated Pittsburgh, but not the other two counties that he also paid to have programmed.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, I too have the same problem.
According to "Easier to Read SDS100/200",
Select Service Types
Press Func then Zip/Services.
Scroll to each Service Type and press E/yes to enable or disable.
Unfortunately, only a few are available BUT when I follow the above directions I just get a BEEP when I try to enable the ones with a "DOTTED LINE" beside them. I'm guessing there must be another way to ENABLE the types with a dotted line beside them.

Ok I finally read enough to find THIS: "When the scanner displays a Service Type that is not in the Favorite Lists, the scanner will display a "---" indication. "
Thanks for reading, NOW I KNOW. (wish it was listed under the above directions)
