possibly. Do you scan or search talkgroups? Perhaps there are more TG's that haven't been identified therefore not in the Database.

I do not own a whistler, but I here they use Wildcards to search for unknown talkgroups. I would read up on how to program a wildcard or maybe someone who owns whistlers can chime in.

The information in the database comes from users like you. If people like you don't search/scan/find information and then submit it, the database won't get updated. That's the fun and challenge of the hobby--finding those talkgroups! Some experienced members are hesitant to continue to provide information over and over because some other members seem to just want to be takers, and give nothing to the hobby. Without a two-way exchange of information, this site doesn't work well.

So what you'll need to do is either use your scanner in search mode (I don't own a Whistler so I can't help with that), or program talkgroups that aren't in the database. So if Sheriff 1 is listed as talkgroup 24900, and Sheriff 2 is listed as talkgroup 24902, it would only make sense that there should be a talkgroup 24901 for something. It may or may not be for Benton County, but probably is. Program it into your scanner and find out. You can become the foremost authority on Benton County scanning and share that info with others.

It has been a long while since I touched my Whistlers, but there is a way to do an ID search. It may take some time, especially if it is only a seldom used TAC channel.

Here is the key to the RR Database, it is kept up to date by users like you and me. So, should you find new talk group(s) please submit them so they can be included in the database. One thing they do ask when submitting new information is it be complete, mainly the number, ID name (even if it is yours, but try to follow the convention used in the system you want updated). There is a link on the 'submit' page to help.

I'm a couple of years late in this, but welcome aboard.

Lynn
