I have been using Unitrunker 1.0.0.10 and have a question about the Data Bits, Stop Bits & Parity settings. I am using a PSR-500 (currently on a Motorola UHF analog system) and am unsure of what these settings do exactly and how to best adjust them for optimal performance on various types of systems. I have not seen any info on these settings specifically and currently have them blank. The drop down options are as follows:

Data Bits: 7 or 8

Stop Bits: 1 or 2

Parity: none, odd or even

Any insight into the use of these settings is appreciated.

These are the settings to allow communication with the serial port. They have nothing to do with software performance or anything else. If they are not set properly the software will not communicate with the device connected to the serial port.

Thank you for the quick responses. So being that I am using the USB cable that came with the PSR-500 these settings are not applicable and should be left blank. Thanks!

8 bits 1 stop bit and no parity works for most models. Some CI-V models like 2 stop bits. Read the manual for your specific radio.
