I figured it out. Added the control channel in the frequency menu under config and picked right up came to life. But I do have a system that is not in the database.
It doesn't take much effort to update it. Just takes some time and disk space... It has almost been a year now since it was created. It is time to update it.BTT
I Appreciate it wish i knew more coding and everything else to help out.
I'd bet everyone would agree with PCMAN67 and say to concentrate efforts on building new and improving the software.
Cant beat the little device. Tinkering with it at two different system sites I monitor and been working great.
Yes. You have to enter something in each field on one of the blank record lines, then press "Write Talkgroups". Also take a look at the "tips and tricks" part of the web site to see how you can import the dsd formatted talk group files available to subscribers here on RR. It will save you a lot of typing. Can I added TGs manually if I know them

The BTConfig software has been updated to 2021-03-31_1544. The FCC frequency database is now up-to-date. This is the only thing that was changed in this release. The firmware version remains 2021-03-25_0703.I figured it out. Added the control channel in the frequency menu under config and picked right up came to life. Do you need to have the P25RX connected to the PC to do this or can you work on your talk groups "offline" for later loading to the receiver? Admission of guilt- I'm checking out the software prior to commiting to purchase.Yes. You have to enter something in each field on one of the blank record lines, then press "Write Talkgroups". The "import csv" function is for importing talk groups. Try renaming the file to lower-case ".dsd" extension or change "Files Of Type" to "all files".Do you need to have the P25RX connected to the PC to do this or can you work on your talk groups "offline" for later loading to the receiver? The DB search didn't find the Solano County CA system, so I tried the RR import per the Tips and Tricks. The "Documents/p25rx folder didn't exist so I created it, but the Import CSV button doesn't find it.
I see that Solano county is is the database. I'm not sure why it doesn't come up. What zip code or city should I search on?Do you need to have the P25RX connected to the PC to do this or can you work on your talk groups "offline" for later loading to the receiver? Was looking for the Solano County Regional Communications System. The RR database lists the location as Vacaville (95687 & 95688). Vacaville was the seed for this system and the cities of Fairfield 94534 and Suisun City 94585.
The answers here are not show stoppers- when the tax refund arrives I'm planing on being on your waiting list. Quite impressed with what I see and your respose to users. In the mean time, just checking out the function of the computers here- a middle grade WIN 10 machine and an ancient mac laptop which both installed & loaded java & the BT software with no issues.
Those Solano County frequencies from the FCC data base are out of date. The county moved to 700Mhz in January this year. I don't know much about searching the FCC site or how often it is updated. I wonder if an update delay is cause for some of the questions that come up. The RR users had the new system well sorted out in a matter of days- quite impressive. Please give 2021-04-01_2041 a try. (testing version). When searching, disable the "Trunked only" check and enable the "Duplicate Frequencies" option. With these options, Solano county shows up. See attached.
