Greetings all!

After looking at the database I find only (2) 400 mHz frequencies listed for the National Zoo, (not the zoo at the capitol :D) however there are no control chanel(s) listed. Is this up to date or does anyone have information on what TRS or conventional frequencies are being used.

Information much appreciated!!!!

The National Zoo uses an LTR Passport system. There are no control channels with these systems. No scanner can track these systems, but since the systems are analog, you can plug in the frequencies (408.4500 and 409.4250) and listen. Let us know if you find any other system frequencies...there may be more. Inputs are 9 MHz higher.

In addition, the zoo uses several UHF business frequencies. See this license:

ULS License - Industrial/Business Pool, Conventional License - WQCY945 - Friends of the National Zoo

Also check out this page, as a bunch of the frequencies have been identified with their tones:

District of Columbia , District of Columbia (DC) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Many thanks dtscho!

Really appreciate the info! Will pass this on to my friend who retired from the zoo and has been trying to locate the infomation.

I will forward to the DB any further information he finds.

Again, thanks for the fast response:wink:
